On April 2, the award ceremony of the 2025 Jinsui Award National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held at the Guangzhou International Campus of South China University of Technology. Undergraduate teams from the School of Journalism and Communication stood out from thousands of entries submitted by students from more than 100 universities across China, winning three major awards: one Gold Award, one Silver Award and one Bronze Award.
In this competition, students from our college focused on “rural revitalization” and “brand innovation”, integrating professional knowledge with social practice. Among them, Jiayi Xue, a student majoring in Advertising from the Class of 2024, won the Gold Award in the Dayao Xigu category for her work Dayao Xigu 32 Springs: An Empirical Study of the “Temperature-stable Hydration Experience” in Sports Scenarios and Its Pathways for Brand Application.

The work A Fresh Renewal of Xiaozhai, jointly completed by Jiali Ling, Yujia Yang, Zhengjie Yang and Yitong Jiao, students from the Class of 2024 majoring in Advertising, Journalism and Audiovisual Communication, won the Silver Award in the Changfa Xiaozhai Rural Revitalization category.

The work Integrating Millennia-old Intangible Cultural Heritage Wisdom into a Contemporary Campus Chapter, completed by Kexin Jiang, Xiangjun Liu and Ruiqi Pan, students majoring in Advertising from the Class of 2024, won the Bronze Award in the College Student Entrepreneurship Track of the Changfa Xiaozhai Creative category.

All the award-winning works were completed under the guidance of Professor Shihong She. During the preparation process, Professor She provided solid professional guidance and academic support for each team, laying a strong foundation for the final presentation of their works.
It is reported that the Jinsui Award National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was guided by the Guangzhou Advertising Association, the National Rural Industry Integration Development Alliance and other organizations. It was organized by the Steering Committee for College Student Brand Building, Innovation and Creativity and co-organized by the School of Journalism and Communication, South China University of Technology.
This award is not only a recognition of our students’ professional competence but also an important achievement of our school’s teaching philosophy of “promoting learning and innovation through competitions.” Moving forward, the College will continue to encourage students to pursue innovation, engage in practice, and achieve further progress in academic pursuits and innovation practices.
