In the golden month of September, a new journey begins. On September 9th, the opening ceremony for the 2025 freshmen of the School of Journalism and Communication was successfully held in the concert hall of the University Town Campus. Members of the school's party and administrative leadership team, faculty representatives, parent representatives, and all freshmen of the 2025 class attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Dean Chen Gang introduced the school's history and achievements in recent years. He also expressed three expectations for the new students: first, to actively integrate into the digital age; second, to maintain progressive thinking and bold action; and third, to care for the people they can connect with in real life, to be moved by those far away, and to be more willing to praise those around them.

Following this, school leaders presented the new students with 20th anniversary badges and awarded flags to each class. Dean Chen Gang presented appointment letters to the 2025 undergraduate freshmen's class advisors, Yu Xiaochuan, Ning Qunxian, Yang Keqing, and Liu Xiaoying. Student representatives presented flowers to the school's teachers, expressing their Teachers' Day wishes. Finally, the school's faculty and students sang the South China University of Technology's school song together, and the opening ceremony concluded successfully amidst the resounding singing.
