At the 137th Canton Fair, over 20 Chinese and international students from the Guangzhou Daily's "National Communication Practice Camp" engaged with merchants from around the world, documenting innovative achievements from a professional perspective and telling the story of "Made in China 2025" in a youthful voice. A student team from the School of Journalism and Communication at South China University of Technology, together with international students from the School of International Education, captured the highlights through their lenses, allowing the stories of the Canton Fair to shine with youthful brilliance and unique charm on the international stage.
In the third phase of the import exhibition area, over 200 companies from 30 countries and regions showcased their distinctive products. Zhang Xueling, an Indonesian student at South China University of Technology, deeply experienced the dynamism of international trade and the fusion of diverse cultures. During her visit, she also met fellow Indonesians—food exporters who were using the Canton Fair to find Chinese agents.
Inside the exhibition hall, Chinese products such as smart massage chairs, intelligent robots, and tea became the "traffic stars" attracting global buyers. Our students, possessing solid new media skills and cross-cultural communication knowledge, interacted with merchants from various countries, leading them in an immersive experience of the Canton Fair.
Xu Xinyao, a student majoring in Audiovisual Communication in the Class of 2023, told us that under the professional guidance of reporters from Guangzhou Daily, we directly witnessed, decoded, and disseminated the Canton Fair from multiple perspectives, transforming from readers and bystanders of Guangzhou's practices and stories into participants and witnesses.
