time: 2023-03-31

On the morning of March 20, the College of Journalism and Communication held an online demonstration meeting on the decoration plan of the convergent media laboratory. Hu Yiliang, deputy director of Zhejiang University of Media and Communication’s National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, and Wang Jianlei, deputy dean of Shenzhen University’s School of Communication, offered greater ideas for changes to the scheme. Vice dean Cao Xiaojie presided over the meeting, which was attended by the Laboratory Teaching Center director Hu Bing, deputy director Zhou Yu, laboratory teacher Ou huiling and Zheng Zhong.

Vice Dean Cao Xiaojie began by providing a quick overview of the present state and future plans for our laboratory. Director Hu Bing and Deputy Director Zhou Yu, respectively, reported on the completed equipment procurement, laboratory decoration plan and ideas of the convergent media laboratory.

The two experts approved the decoration scheme and put forward valuable suggestions. Director Hu Yiliang held that the laboratory will rely on“cloud + device” in the future. That means we should fully utilize the online media environment. Physical space planning should be futuristic and appropriately left blank in order to create an experimental teaching space that can perform addition and subtraction and maximize its availability. Vice Dean Wang Jianlei thought that the quality of the decoration design will limit and dictate the laboratory’s future development, rather than the decoration work appearing to be the core component of the laboratory building. It is essential to consider both the present and the future when planning the laboratory area. The majority of future laboratory fund will go toward increasing computer processing capacity.

Meanwhile, the two parties engaged in extensive discussions about how to better support the talent cultivation, the introduction of experimental talent, the creation of experimental courses, and other difficult issues. Finally, vice dean Cao Xiaojie expressed gratitude on behalf of the school to the two experts for their time and guidance, expressing the hope that we can communicate more and work for shared progress.
