Shupei Yuan is currently an associate professor in the Department of Communication at Northern Illinois University, U.S.A.  She received her bachelor's degree from South China University of Technology, majoring in Advertising. After graduation in 2011,  she continued her graduate study at Michigan State University where she received her master's degree and Ph.D. Currently, Dr. Yuan is one of the leading researchers in strategic science communication and public engagement in Science. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and her work has been recognized internationally.
