On July 20, 2021, the 2021 University Film and Television Works Exchange and Screening event (formerly China University Television Award), hosted by the China Educational Television Association and undertaken by the China Educational Television Association College Television Professional Committee, was held at China University of Petroleum (East China) held.

A total of 1,008 films and TV works were submitted by 100 colleges and universities across the country, including 176 news, 159 feature, 116 documentaries, 69 teaching, 114 school image promotional films, and short videos. There are 259 works in the category and 115 works in the variety show category. Our school won 1 first prize in the documentary category and 1 third prize in the news category.

The documentary Chen Teahouse, co-created by the 2019 audio-visual communication class Luo Ruiqi, He Shasha, Liu Siyi, Wang Ruizong and other students, recorded the ingenuity of the owner of a small sugar shop in Guangzhou during the pandemic and the affection of the neighbors. The sudden epidemic has brought heavy losses to the catering industry, but the emotional connection between people will not be interrupted by the epidemic. An arcade, a tea house, a constant feeling of the neighborhood, the beauty of the old times is preserved here.

The character feature film Being a Seed of the Party co-created by Lv Zeyun, Peng Congwen, and Liang Zihua from the 2018 Audio-Visual Communication Class tells how Zeng Huidian, the executive deputy director of the Customs and Work Committee of South China University of Technology, under the training of the party, he transformed from a rural cow herder, a student, to a teacher and party worker at South China University of Technology. Secretary Zeng has worked tirelessly for decades of party work. We hope that through his story, we can inspire young students at the university to work hard and contribute to the party and the country.
