To promote academic exchanges between graduate students of South China University of Technology and its counterpart Guangxi University, from April 27th to 28th, the second “New Media and Professional Development” media forum for Guangdong and Guangxi graduate students was held in Room 401, Block B9, University Park. More than 40 representatives from School of Journalism and Communication of South China University of Technology and School of Journalism and Communication of Guangxi University attended the forum.

At the opening ceremony, Su Hongyuan, dean of School of Journalism and Communication at South China University of Technology, pointed out that perhaps not everyone will embark on the academic road and “the road to wisdom.” However, whether or not we engage in academic research in the future, for graduate students, there are The experience of academic research is always a beautiful thing, because in this process we will have fun in thinking.
A total of 31 papers were finalized in the forum, and the finalists reported on the theme of their papers in the form of self-presentation and judges' comments. Some of these works focus on the development and application of new media technologies such as algorithm push, data news, and VR news. Some focus on the integration and transformation of traditional media, and some focus on the innovation practice and teaching model of the journalistic talent training model under the new media environment. The reforms fully reflect the solid academic knowledge and broad academic vision of the students. In the report-sharing session, the judges made patient and meticulous comments from different perspectives, such as topics and research methods. Eventually, they competed for one or two or three other prizes.
On the successful conclusion of the forum, Feng Xiangyang, Party Secretary of the School of Journalism and Communication, South China University of Technology, and Vice President Li Qinglin, Vice President of the School of Journalism and Communication of Guangxi University, respectively, concluded. Feng Xiangyang hopes that in the future, the two colleges can work more closely together to make the academic forum platform bigger and better, and even use it as a model to promote and make an academic exchange brand.
