2016 Graduate Student Party Branch Visit the Guangzhou National Archives
In order to further the learning of party building call of Two Studies One Actionand hold the related theme activities, more than 20 peoples including 2016 graduate student party branch comrades and some representatives of the mass of SJC of SCUT took a visit to the Guangzhou National Archives on the afternoon of May 18.
As President Xi stressed in the speech on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), stay true to the mission and move on, and also encouraged the young people to build a historic way of thinking on the 98th anniversary of the China's Youth Day, it is significant for the students' party members to set correct view of history and deepen learning of the Two Studies and One Action, which actually become the original intention of the visit.
Guangzhou National Archives was originally called Guangzhou City Archives (Bureau) which was established in 1959. In November of 2009, it changed its name into the present name, and moved to the Archives Road of Guangzhou University Town. The new museum covers more than 50,013 square meters, and collects 1.125 million rolls of archives. Arrived in the museum, party members first visited the first floor, New Guangzhou exhibition hall, which is about 3 meters tall, with 108 meters long LED projection. The high-tech means including the fusion photography, art technology and animation, vividly represent a thousand years of Guangzhou history scroll: human, natural landscape and modern architecture. On the second floor, the 16th Asian Games, the first Asian Paralympic Games archives exhibition hall exhibit the mascot, medals, stadium supplies and other hundreds of pieces, recording the scene in 2010 Guangzhou successful sports event held by the government and citizens.
Then, party members visited the third floor of the archives, where the disappearing city memory had been awaken. Lots of famous sites like the Chen ancestral hall, Wuyang sculpture, Huangpu Military Academy site parade, the Up and Down Nine commercial street shown as old pictures, which performed the lively historical image of Guangzhou City from the Millennium Town to the Business Frontier and Revolutionary City. All these exhibition have mirrored the urban modernization development process from the aspects of Guangzhou political, economic and cultural changes, gathering the common memory of Guangzhou social development.
During the learning visit trip, every participants walked in the various exhibition hall and read the background information one by one, taking a thin taste of precipitation in vicissitudes and prosperity of Guangzhou's history. Everyone showed their deep appreciation for the numerous people with lofty ideals dedicated to the development of Guangzhou and their remarkable courage and wisdom through this learning trip, and also furthered the recognition of importance for young party members to establish a correct view of history and adhere to the ideals and beliefs and play the role of pioneer exemplary role.
