Brief introduction: What do we learn from communication studies? In a new era, what changes have taken place in the research environment of communication studies? How to carry out the research on journalism and communication? How to propose research questions of real value? How to distinguish good research topics from bad ones? What common problems does academic research have?

Introduction of Lecturer: CHEN Lidan, a distinguished professor of Renmin University of China, has been enjoying the State Council special allowance since 1993. His experience: Member of the Disciplinary Committee of the 6th Academic Degree Committee of the State Council (2008-2015), director of the press of Journalism and Social Development Research Center in Renmin University of China (2003-2016),editor of “Journal of International Communication”（2005-2016), director of post doctoral station in School of Journalism, Renmin University of China（2004-2016), director of Academic Committee of School of Journalism, Renmin University of China（2015-2016).

He has published about 8million words on Journalism and Communication, including 29 alone works, 13 first signature works and 8 only series, more than 200 thesis as well as above 1900 general articles.
