Review of 2016 China (Guangzhou) International Documentary Festival Read China -- students documentary contest was held from November 30th to December 1st and successfully concluded in School of Journalism and communication, Guangzhou University city South China University of Technology .
This review work hired 7 experts and famous documentary director including Chen Qin as the head of the audit committee who is marketing publishing office director of China Education Television, Chinese Youth Newspaper - Youth Online mobile fusion editor Gao Xu, the National Archives audio-visual archive director Li Quanxin, documentary director Li Xiaofeng, IQIYI documentary editor Wu Wenfeng, Zhu jianfei from School of Journalism and communication, South China University of Technology and professor Huang Guiping. Deputy director Ding Qingqing of Guangdong Press and Publication Radio and Television Bureau (Copyright Bureau) Publicity Management Office also came to t exchange opinions with the judges on specific issues.
As the highest-level documentary annual event for Chinese college students, 2016 read Chinese college students documentary competition has received widespread attention from home and abroad universities, attracting students’ work from New York Film Institute,, Communication University of China, City University Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, Beijing Film Academy and other world-renowned universities. It has received 353 documentaries from 137 universities / colleges until deadline October 31st. Among the re evaluation of the total of 96 works,there are 69 short films and 27 long ones.
In terms of the works entered the finals of this year, the match among appraised units is very competitive. Result will be announced in mid December.
At the same time, as the organizer of the contest, School of Journalism and Communication of South China University of Technology will also bring five wonderful documentary in December 10th 11st, and three consecutive masters’ seminars from December 13rd to 15th.
