China (Guangzhou) International Documentary Film Contest press conference was held in South China University of Technologyin the afternoon of October 14th.The leaders of Guangdong press and Publication Bureau of radio and television, South China University of Technology,Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of culture and publicationattended the meeting with the company of delegates of the organizing committee. Launching ceremony of “ten themes” which contains Foreigners in China, College Students, City against village, City Story, Environment-friendly China, Innovation and technology, Delicacy of China, Phenomenon of single and unmarried women, The hot of Chinese language and Chinese minority culture was held before the formal conference. Ying Qi Ming, one of the judges and also a committee member of the organizing committee, unscrambled “ten themes” and pointed that the “ten themes” not only epitomizes the past, the actualities and the future of China, but also describes a whole picture of our country which is now changing and developing rapidly and urge us to figure out something enormous through a tiny lens.
Wu Ye Chun, theassistant principal ofSouth China University of Technology, also delivered a speech and highly praised the themes of this contest, conveyed the expectations of the distinctive lens of striplings with the works which exhibits Chinese characteristics as well. He also pointed thatan excellent platform for bettercommunication ofUniversity film and television majors and documentary areas would be built under the joint efforts ofSouth China University of Technology and theorganizing committee.
After the launching ceremony, The Record Of Lu Shan, the best short documentary film which is popularized as an excellent express of “Chinese Dreams” cater to the whole nation was screened. As the director of this film, Chen qi told about the story of the shooting process with the interact with live audience. He also pointed that he insists to understand the create documentaries in his own way, that is you must take your personal thinking into the real events of the reproduction and make more in-depth analysis in order to produce a qualified documentary.
Director Chen Qi had also come to the academy to make a lecture about the relationship among creation, life and your choices. After the unscramblingof his work and the shooting process, he shared anecdotes in his daily creation and provided a further step of hisdocumentary creation experience.
