Li Xiaohua, female, PhD, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Postdoctoral Supervisor, Deputy Director of the Hakka Culture Research Center and Director of the Department of Journalism and Communication at South China University of Technology, and Visiting Scholar at UCLA and UC Riverside; Expert reviewer and researcher for the National Social Science Fund of China, expert reviewer for the Ministry of Education's dissertations, expert reviewer for Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Planning Projects, expert reviewer for Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Achievement Awards, member of the CCTV All-Media Program Evaluation Expert Committee, expert committee member for the protection of intangible cultural heritage in Guangdong Province, member of the Second Council of the Ethnic Film and Television Committee of the China Higher Education Film and Television Association, member of the Council of the International Communication Committee of Chinese Culture of the China Association for Comparative Studies of Languages and Cultures, member of the Third Council of the Media Culture Committee of the China Higher Education Film and Television Association, and member of the Local Journalism History Research Committee of the China Journalism History Society. Her current research focuses on media culture and social development, international communication, intercultural communication, ethnic and regional culture, film and television communication, and media anthropology. She has published four monographs and three co-authored works, and over 60 papers in Chinese and English in core journals such as Modern Communication, Contemporary Communication, Journal of Journalism, Academic Research, Journal of Material Culture, and International Communication of Chinese Culture. She has also written several policy consultation reports. She has independently led more than ten research projects, including those funded by the National Social Science Fund of China, the Ministry of Education's Research Start-up Fund for Returned Overseas Scholars, the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Planning Project, the Guangdong Provincial Social Science Planning Project, the Guangzhou Municipal Social Science Planning Project, the Guangzhou Science and Technology Federation's Social Science Research Project, and the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities. Her research areas include journalism, media, and language and culture. She has received university-level awards for social science achievements, outstanding research, and outstanding teaching.
