Do you remember the games named Hopscotch and Cat's Cradle which were appeared in our childhood? Do you remember the nice moment of eating candies and playing games with our little partners? Memories of childhood are always desirable. On the afternoons of November 22nd and 23rd, 2011 scientific and cultural festival was held by the Communist Youth League and the college of Journalism and Communication at the gate of the first students’ restaurant, and the theme of this activity is "memories of childhood" , so that students seem to go back to their carefree childhood.

  The main form of the games is to let students play some well-known childhood games. There are three game types like Hopscotch and Poking the balloon, Cat's Cradle, Clipping table tennis balls with chopsticks. Only three groups are able to win prizes at last. It attracted a lot of students to participate in the fun games.

  Let us look at the Hopscotch and Poking the balloon first. Most people can easily skip the grid, but some of the balloons are really hard to shoot. Because participants’ feet cannot move, and they were far away from the boards where the balloons are hanging. The ability to stretch the waist and the arm length are key factors of success or failure. Tall boys apparently prevailed and they can easily win the games. The following section is Cat's Cradle. In this section, the participants will against the master- hand of the game in college of Journalism and Communication Youth League. They must beat the masters to win. Not only the girls’ fingers but also the boys’ are flexible. A few rounds later, the Ministry of Cultural rope master who were defeated. After this section they immediately went to clip table tennis with chopsticks. It not only tested their ability of using chopsticks, but the patience of participants as well. Most of the people felt anxious but had nothing to do with it. They have to change the way of using two chopsticks, and funny scenes often appears. After the game, the winners came to the podium to get different kinds of gifts. We have fun, have recovered a warm memory, and took home our favorite prizes.

  When we came into the university, we faced the heavy academic and life stress. We really hope that more people can participate in this event as an opportunity to wake up the most pristine inner feelings of us, and at the same time it can provide the courage for us to move forward.
