主讲人简介：
Gerard Steenis professor of Language Use and Cognition at VU University Amsterdam. He is director of the VU Metaphor Lab, and program director of the Language, Cognition, and Communication research program at VU University Amsterdam. He conducts research into figurative meaning in language and communication andhas developed various methods for the identification and analysis of metaphor. He isworking on an interdisciplinary metaphor processing model that will combine approaches from the fields oflinguistics,psychology and the social sciences. Apart from many articles and book chapters, professor Steen has published seventeen books, edited volumes, and special issues of scholarly journals. His main interests are metaphor, genre, and discourse, and theoretical and methodological issues in doing interdisciplinary work with psychologists and communication scientists.
