"Outstanding Young Scholars Forum" of South China University of Technology: sub-forum in School of Light Industry and Engineering
time: 2018-04-03

On March 30th, 2018, the first "Outstanding Young Scholars Forum" of South China University of Technology: sub-forum in School of Light Industry and Engineering in the study term of 2018 was organized in meeting room N.306 of the Stage Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering. Dr. Zhou Shengfei, from University of Wisconsin-Madison of USA, gave a lecture titled with “Pretreatment and Preservation of lignocellulosic biomass as well as comprehensive biorefinery”. In the lecture, Dr. Zhou discussed and analyzed many problems about the methods of lignocellulosic biorefinery as well as how to use environmental friendly solvents to further improve the sustainability of biorefinery. Dr. Zhou also had interactive with all participants in the forum for related front-edge questions.

The Forum was hosted by the Dean of our school, Prof. Lu Fachuang and many professors and students of our school were participated in this forum. The "Outstanding Young Scholars Forum" is one of the most important ways of our school to improve academic exchange and recruit talents from the whole world. The "Outstanding Young Scholars Forum" is aimed at inviting young talents with different academic backgrounds around the world to discuss and communicate the development of science and technologies in international scientific cut edge, hot research fields as well as industrial domains and so on. The platform will play a main role on inspiring each other, widening the sights of researchers, enhancing international exchanges and collaboration, and promoting development of the two sides.

Brief introduction of the lecturer:
