News Release | The Class of 2022 in Marxist Theory Earns an Honorable Mention in the “Top Ten Outstanding Class Collectives” Competition at South China University of Technology

In the final round of South China University of Technology’s 2024–2025 “Top Ten Outstanding Class Collectives” selection, the Class of 2022 in Marxist Theory placed 11th, narrowly missing the top ten, and was awarded an Honorable Mention in recognition of its outstanding class development, academic excellence, and rich engagement in social practice.

Class Profile: “Pursuing Dreams in the School of Marxist, Striving for Excellence”

As the inaugural undergraduate class since the School of Marxism reinstated its bachelor’s program, the Class of 2022 in Marxist Theory bears a significant mission and high expectations. Comprising 27 students from diverse regions across China, the class is united by a shared commitment to Marxism and a common aspiration to serve society through truth-seeking and dedication. They embraced the theme “Class 2022: Extraordinary and Beyond”. Guided by the spirit of seeking truth and serving society, they have achieved remarkable success in academic studies, social practice, and volunteer services.

The class has excellent performance in the following areas:

Political Belief: All 27 students maintain firm political stances, with two-thirds of the class being members of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Academic Excellence: The class fosters a rigorous learning environment. Currently, 7 students have already secured “Recommended for Post-Graduate Studies” (exempt from the entrance exam) for 2026. Over half of the class has received university-level honors or higher.

Social Impact: More than one-fourth of the students have served as keynote speakers for theoretical outreach programs.

  Volunteering: The class has accumulated a total of over 2,000 hours of volunteer service.

The 2022 Marxist Theory Class serves as an exemplary model for other classes within the school. Looking ahead, they will continue to forge ahead, exploring the path of truth and contributing their youthful energy to the realization of the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.
