On May 11th, No.42 South China Humanities Forum was held in room No. 205. The theme of this forum was “Know More about China”: from perspective of “Four Comprehensive”. Professor Chen Xixi, from Shanghai Jiaotong University was invited to give a special report. Professor Xie Lixia presided over the forum, which all college teachers and students participated in.
Professor Chen Xixi first discussed the basis of the formation of “Four Comprehensive” from four aspects: Chinese reality, historical logic, world vision and value orientation.
Then he put forward that we should raise the consciousness of seeking truth from facts, developing consciousness of historical materialism, consciousness of keeping up with the world, and consciousness of people's subjective stage.
“Four comprehensive” reflected the theoretical thinking of materialist dialectics, whole thinking, contradictory thinking, top thinking and bottom-line thinking. Chen Xixi pointed out that to deepen the “Four Comprehensive” ideological basis, people must have self-confidence and self-consciousness. It was necessary to study philosophy, and use philosophy to enhance dialectical thinking and own capacity of overall control.
