On September 11th, in the evening, our hospital held lecture 32 of South Humanities Forum in Building 5, 201room. Our school invited Professor Luo Yuting, from Wuhan University, who did an academic report entitled "Adhere to the Core Values; Focus on Casting the Soul ofPeople", which had been presided over by president Liu Xin.
Report adhered to three themes: the significance of core values , the essence of socialist core value and promotion of socialist core value. Professor Luo Yuting believed that the socialist core values was the soul of rejuvenating, the soul of schools. Professor Luo with profound knowledge, cited vivid quotation to demonstrate the importance of socialist core values to culture of nationand college education. Besides, Professor Luo indicated that the essence of socialist core value was collectivism, from three aspects:collectivism reflecting the essential requirement of socialist public ownership, reflecting the common interests of all members, reflecting the cohesion of the valueconsensus. He believed that the spirit of collectivism was a combination of collective and personal interests, in essence. To grasp the socialist core values, he thought, we must dealt with the relationship between public and private.
Professor Luo believed that carrying forward the socialist core values, we must focus on these key aspects: grasping the socialist core value, carefully nurturing socialist core value, vigorously practicing the socialist core values. In particular, he stressed,for nurturing the socialist core value, we must strengthen the cultural construction of university, promote university spirit, and have the courage to face confrontation with a variety of values, really improve the political awareness of college students.
