From October 12th to 15th, the final of the 7th China College Students “Internet +” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Nanchang University, Jiangxi Province. A total of 9 projects from South China University of Technology were selected for the final competition. The team The Light of Power – Ultrafast Optical Fiber Laser, which is led by Miss. Wen Xiaoxiao, postgraduate of grade 18 of the School of Physics and Optoelectronics, stood out among 1085 projects and finally won the silver prize.

Mr. Zhang Xichun, secretary of the Party Committee of the South China University of Technology, and Mr. Gao Song, president of the University, paid close attention to the preparation situation of the competition, communicated with the participating team members and instructors, and encouraged them to prepare for the competition earnestly. Mr. Li Zheng, the vice president of the university, presided over many mobilization meetings to encourage each school to explore the participating projects, and gave strong support and guidance to each participating team throughout the whole competition from the school competition, provincial competition to the final. During the competition, the participants overcame all sorts of difficulties, carefully polished the existing projects, gradually optimized the declaration, repeatedly revised the speech, and constantly improved the exhibition objects. Participants have gained many entertain experiencing the challenge and overcoming them, and their dreams were constantly refined and sublimated during the challenge.

It is reported that our school attaches great importance to students' extra-curricular scientific and technological innovation, and focuses on cultivating three-innovation talents. Since the launch of this competition at the beginning of this year, our school has cooperated with the Academic Affairs Office, the Youth League Committee, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and many other departments of university to steadily promote various work aiming to make contributions to deepening the undergraduates’ education reform of our school with the help of the competition. Under the guidance of the South China University of Technology, in addition to the “Internet +” competition, our school actively participated in the Challenge Cup, the China Undergraduate Physics Tournament, the China Undergraduate Physics Experiment, the National University Students’ Opt-Sci-Tech Competition and other national discipline competitions, hoping to achieve excellent results!
