The generation of strongly correlated multi-photon states is fundamental for quantum technologies. In this talk we will discuss a new approach for generating correlated few-photon states via cascaded inelastic scattering in a nonlinear waveguide. Unlike standard point-like scattering, this process relies on an effective nonlocal potential arising from the spatial extent of the bound-state wavefunction, which we formalize using the concept of a “pseudo-giant atom”. Implementing this scheme with a real giant atom enables unidirectional, tunable photon conversion without backscattering. The final output is a programmable, time-bin encoded, atom-waveguide hyper-entangled state, where photon-number components are automatically sorted by their distinct group velocities. This work opens a new paradigm in quantum state engineering, enabling on-demand generation of complex multi-photon resources for quantum simulation, metrology, and scalable quantum networks.
报告人简介:
王信,西安交通大学物理学院副教授。2012年毕业于西安交通大学电气工程及其自动化专业,获得学士学位;2017年毕业于西安交通大学物理系,获得理学博士学位。2019年至2020年在日本理化学研究所从事博士后研究工作。主要研究方向为量子光学和量子信息,主持国家自然科学基金项目、省部级基金多项,2024年获得英国物理学会出版社“高被引论文奖”。目前已在Physical Review Letters、Communication Physics、Physical Review等期刊发表论文40余篇。
