报告摘要:Higher-order topological phases are characterized by generalized bulk-corner or bulk-hinge correspondence. The presence of bound states at shaper corners or hinges have been widely taken as the hallmark of higher-order topological phases both in theory and experiment. In this talk, I am going to show that the boundary physics for higher-order topological phases can be enriched by the sublattice degrees of freedom of the lattice structure. Concretely, I am going to show that the sublattice termination at the boundary has strong impact on the boundary Dirac mass. When one boundary contains two different types of sublattice terminations, the sublattice domain walls can be a Dirac-mass domain wall and thus bind bound states. Since the sublattice domain walls can be created at any position on the boundary, the positions of the bound states are free to manipulate. This remarkable property may benefit the implementation of the braiding of Majorana bound states.
报告人简介:严忠波,2009年和2015年在中国科学技术大学近代物理系分别取得学士和博士学位,2015年至2018年间在清华大学高等研究院从事博士后研究,2018年10月起入职中山大学物理学院,任职副教授。主要致力于凝聚态系统中拓扑物态的基础理论研究,发表论文40余篇。
