【Biography】Domling is an internationally recognized chemist borne in Munchen/Germany 08.10.1964. He studied chemistry & biology at the Technical University Munchen (Germany) and performed his PhD under the supervision of Ivar Ugi. Then he went to perform his postdoctoral studies in the laboratories of Nobel Laureate Barry Sharpless at Scripps (California). He then performed his Habilitation at the Technical University Munchen (Germany) and went to become associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh for 8 years. There he was promoted to become full professor. Most recently he became professor and chair of the department of drug design at the University of Groningen (Netherlands). He holds secondary appointments at PITT and Jagiellonian University (Krakow, Poland). His research in the areas of multidisciplinary, organic and medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, oncology and biophysics is published in more than 250 journal articles, reviews and book chapters (with a recent average of 20 publications per year). His h-index is 41 and the number of citations exceeds 14.000. He strives to bridge academic research outcomes to the market and has formed several biotech companies, incl. Morphochem, Carmolex and most recently SMIO.
