Educational Objectives:
The medical imaging programadheres to the fundamental principle of fostering virtue and cultivatingtalent. It emphasizes the Three Capabilities (learning ability,ideological strength, and action ability) and the Three Basics and ThreeStricts (basic theories, basic knowledge, and basic skills, as well asstrict requirements, rigorous attitude, and serious work style). The goal is tocultivate medical imaging professionals who meet the needs of the developmentof China's medical imaging field. Graduates are expected to master foundationalknowledge in basic medicine, clinical medicine, and medical imaging, and toproficiently apply professional knowledge and skills to solve practicalclinical problems. They are qualified to work in medical, research, andeducational roles related to medical imaging and interventional radiologywithin healthcare institutions.
(1) Objective 1: Uphold strong professional ethics, adhere to correct professionalvalues, and prioritize social responsibility.
(2) Objective 2: Acquire a wide range of knowledge in the natural sciences,humanities, social sciences, basic medicine, clinical medicine and medicalimaging. Be able to use medical imaging technology to diagnose diseases byimaging or radiotherapy.
(3) Objective 3: Utilize clinical thoughts to effectively analyze and resolveproblems and possess a strong capacity for innovation and lifelong learning.
(4) Objective 4: To become a medical imaging professional capable of engaging inmedical imaging work, teaching, and research in hospitals, medicalinstitutions, higher medical colleges, and medical research facilities.
Student Outcomes:
Undergraduate graduates majoring inmedical imaging should establish a correct world outlook, outlook on life andvalues, love the motherland, be loyal to the people, abide by laws andregulations, and be willing to devote their entire lives to the development ofthe country's medical and health care cause and the physical and mental healthof mankind. The basic requirements that undergraduate graduates majoring inmedical imaging should meet are divided into four areas: science and academia, clinical ability, health and society, andprofessional spirit and quality.
No. 1. Science and Academia
No. 1.1 Possess the basicknowledge of natural science, humanities and social science, medicine and otherdisciplines, master scientific methods, and be able to apply them to guidefuture studies and medical practice.
No. 1.2 Be capable of applyingscientific knowledge such as medicine to handle medical or health-relatedissues in individuals, groups, and health systems.
No. 1.3 Be capable ofunderstanding and describing the prevention of diseases at all stages of life,as well as the causes, pathogenesis, course, clinical manifestations,diagnosis, treatment, outcome, prognosis and rehabilitation of diseases.
No. 1.4 Be capable of masteringcommonly used tools in interdisciplinary fields such as artificial intelligenceand possess the ability to apply them to solve related clinical problems.
No. 1.5 Be capable of obtaining,discriminating, understanding and applying evidence in medical and otherscientific literature.
No. 1.6 Be capable of applyingcommon scientific methods to raise corresponding scientific questions andconduct discussions.
No. 2. Clinical competence
No. 2.1 Possess excellentcommunication skills and be capable of effectively interacting with patients,their families or guardians, colleagues, and other health professionals.
No. 2.2 Be capable ofcomprehensively, systematically and accurately collecting medical history.
No. 2.3 Be capable ofsystematically and standardly conducting imaging examinations, imagingdiagnoses, interventional operations and perioperative evaluations, andstandardly writing imaging diagnosis reports. Based on the medical history andfindings from imaging examinations, a preliminary judgment is formed, adifferential diagnosis is made, and reasonable diagnostic thinking andtreatment principles are proposed.
No. 2.4 Be capable of selectingappropriate imaging examination methods based on the patient's condition,safety, cost-effectiveness and other factors, and explain their rationality. Beable to make judgments and interpretations of the examination results.
No. 2.5 Be capable of rationallyselecting and safely performing basic operations of commonly used imaging (suchas imaging technology, radiological diagnosis, ultrasound, interventional,nuclear medicine, etc.).
No. 2.6 Be capable of makingclinical judgments and decisions based on continuously obtained evidence, anddetermine further treatment plans under the guidance of senior physicians andexplain their rationality.
No. 2.7 Be able to understand thepatient's problems, opinions, concerns and preferences, enabling the patientand their family members or guardians to fully understand the condition;Communicate with the patient and their family or guardian about the risks andbenefits of the treatment plan, and jointly formulate the treatment plan(doctor-patient joint decision-making). No. 2.8 Be able to provide relevantinformation to patients and their families or guardians in a timely manner,enabling them to choose treatment plans with full knowledge. No. 2.9 Be capableof applying knowledge and concepts related to disease prevention, earlydetection, health care, and chronic disease management to clinical and imagingpractices.
No. 2.10 Be capable of proposingsafe, effective and economical imaging diagnosis and treatment plans based onobjective evidence.
No. 2.11 Be capable of detectingand evaluating changes in the condition and its severity, identifying criticalvalues on images, and providing possible first aid for patients requiringurgent treatment.
No. 2.12 Be capable of applyingmedical imaging equipment systems, be familiar with imaging equipmentinstruments and their development trends.
No. 3. Health and Society
No. 3.1 Have a sense ofresponsibility for protecting and promoting the health of individuals andgroups, and be able to communicate effectively, carry out health education andguidance.
No. 3.2 Be capable ofunderstanding the factors that affect the health of the population, diseasediagnosis and effective treatment; Be capable of explaining and evaluatinghealth checks and preventive measures for the population.
No. 3.3 Be able to understand thehospital's medical quality assurance and medical safety management system, andclearly define one's professional capabilities and authorities.
No. 3.4 Be capable ofunderstanding the structure and function of China's health system, as well asthe functions and interrelationships of each component department, and befamiliar with the national health work policies, regulations and guidelines.
No. 3.5 Be capable ofunderstanding global health issues, paying attention to health problems anddeterminants that transcend national and regional boundaries, promotinginterdisciplinary collaboration and communication, and serving the health ofall mankind.

No. 4.1 Love the motherland, lovemedicine, have lofty ideals and a sense of social responsibility; adhere toprofessional ethics and basic medical laws and regulations, have good conduct,and possess correct values.
No. 4.2 Be empathetic and capableof providing humanitarian medical services to all patients in accordance withthe Code of Ethics for Chinese Physicians; Master the principles ofmedical ethics; Cultivate excellent medical ethics and conduct, possessprofessional spirit, and consciously safeguard the interests of patients.
No. 4.3 Possessing a healthy andsound physical and mental quality, a high level of cultural literacy, andall-round development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics,and labor.
No. 4.4 Be good at interpersonalcommunication, respect other health practitioners, attach importance to mutualcommunication, cooperation and learning, and have certain management andleadership abilities.
