【Guangzhou Daily reported, July 20】On July 20, the trial operation of the new district of Foshan Nanhai People's Hospital and the unveiling ceremony of The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of SCUT and The Sixth Clinical College of SCUT were officially held. It is reported that Nanhai District People's Government cooperates with SCUT to jointly build Foshan Nanhai People’s Hospital (the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of SCUT), and is committed to building a modern comprehensive hospital characterized by cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and critical diseases and research in the Greater Bay Area and around China.

Nanhai cooperates with SCUT to explore the "Nanhai's New Medical Model"

At the meeting, Li Zheng, vice president of SCUT, said that since its establishment in 2014, the School of Medicine of SCUT has always adhered to the idea of developing a future health research institute, aimed at the frontier of future medical and health disciplines and industries, gathered top talents in medical and health field, and built a SCUT medical and health brand. The cooperation with Nanhai District government will actively promote the coordinated development of medical teaching and research, complement each other with the School of Medicine in discipline construction, and enhance the overall strength of medical courses in general. In the meantime, he also hopes that government departments and all sides of society will give strong support and strive to build the comprehensive cancer center of The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of SCUT into a world-class cancer center as soon as possible.

In May this year, the signing ceremony for the cooperation between Nanhai District People's Government and SCUT was held in Wushan campus. The two sides jointly signed the Agreement on Cooperation Between Foshan Nanhai People's Hospital and SCUT, which will jointly build Foshan Nanhai People's Hospital (The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of SCUT), to promote the construction of comprehensive cancer center of SCUT, and are committed to building a modern comprehensive hospital characterized by cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and critical diseases and research in the Greater Bay Area and around China.

Wu Zuqiang, Party Secretary of Nanhai People's Hospital, said that the hospital will move to the new district integrally and embark on a journey with the brand-new appearance. As The Sixth Hospital Affiliated of SCUT, it will strive to explore the “Nanhai’s New Medical Model” and create a "New Pattern of Nanhai Medical Treatment".

The reporter learned that the new district of Nanhai People's Hospital is located in Shishan town, Nanhai District, with a total investment of 2.25 billion yuan and an area of 220 mu, four times that of the old hospital district. The building area is 365,000 square meters, 3.6 times that of the old district, and 2000 beds are designed and planned. On June 30 this year, the hospital's Health Management Center, the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine were among the first departments to be stationed, marking that the new district has entered the trial operation stage. As of July 18, the new district has received more than 1000 patients. In the future, the hospital will continue to improve its peripheral environment, enhance its logistics service, and make every effort to provide high-quality services to the public.
