Seven medical specialists of SCUT’s Affiliated Guangdong General Hospital (GGH) and Second Affiliated Hospital recently received the title of National Renowned Doctors. 

This was the second edition of the nationwide awards, with 362 distinguished doctors taking the honors. The result, after two months of reviewing, was announced on a ceremony that was held on July 20 in Beijing. 

The event was directed by the People’s Daily, and jointly organized by several major newspapers and 60 professional associations of medical science or doctors. 

The seven SCUT people awarded by the event were Wu Shulin, Fan Ruixin, Zhang Bin, Guo Huiming, Zeng Hongke, Wang Lijuan of the GGH, and Deng Junhong of the Second Affiliated Hospital: 

Wu Shulin, Vice President of the GGH, Vice Chair of the Technical Committee on Heart Rhythm of the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering 

Fan Ruixin, Executive Deputy Director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the GGH 

Zeng Hongke, Director of the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the GGH 

Wang Lijuan, Director of the Department of Neurology at the GGH 

Zhang Bin, Deputy Director of the Department of Cardiology at the GGH 

Guo Huiming, Executive Deputy Director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the GGH 

Deng Junhong, Director of the Department of andrology at the Second Affliated Hospital
