During May 11th to 14th, the fifth national college of basic medicine innovation forum and experimental design competition,was hosted by Central South University, sponsored by the joint union of the Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of education and the national experimental teaching demonstration center of the National Laboratory. And the first experiment design competition of the first Chinese-Russian College Students' basic medicine, was held in Central South University. The conference attracted nearly 1000 delegates from 113 universities at home and abroad. A total of 475 teams participated in the conference，taking the largest number of participating units and entries in all previous competitions.There are 3 teams in our medical school. They have won three awards, the second prize, the third prize,and the prize for excellence.

The competition involves medicine and biology and other disciplines. According to different disciplines, participants were divided into 7 groups.Our college students took part in three groups. After two days of fierce competition, our college students, calm and excellent, stood out in many projects. Among them, the Liu Xiufeng team, guided by Li Yanhong and Zhao Jie, was awarded the second prize. Fu Juan and Guo Shengwen led the Yang Jiabin team to win the third prize.And Fu Juan and Professor Liu Zaiyi led the team to win the excellence prize. The students in our college not only displayed persistent efforts and excellent demeanor in the national competition, but also won honor for the school. In the national competition of basic medical experiment competition of college students, the great achievements have been realized, which fully demonstrates the comprehensive strength of our college in the training innovative students and medical education.
Competition site
It is known that the event is held every two years. It is the most influential basic stage for medicine undergraduate students in the field of science and technology innovation and design competition. Through competition, college students report the scientific research results during the course of undergraduate study and explore the idea of experimental design to examine the creative thinking and match the design ability of College Students.The aim of competition is to strengthen the training of innovative experimental skills and scientific research thinking of college students, and to promote the reform of talent training mode, and to provide a stage for college students to give a full play of the potential and ability of scientific research. The core of such competition is to select a group of talents who love scientific research, explore the unknown world bravely, and have the spirit of practice and innovation.(From Zhong Na of medicine school)
