
On November 22, 2023, the Chinese Academy of Engineering announced the list of elected academicians for 2023, SMSE is proud to announce that Professor Enhou Han, our academic was elected as Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Professor Han, researcher of the Institute of Advanced Technology, director of the Guangdong Institute of Corrosion Science and Technology Innovation, president of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Materials Science (APAM), head of the Asia-Australia-Africa regional office of the World Corrosion Organization (WCO),and editor-in-chief of Corrosion Reviews.
Prof. Han has long been engaged in the research and application of corrosion mechanism, corrosion-resistant materials, corrosion control technology, corrosion service safety assessment and remaining life assessment of engineering structures and equipment. He has developed a variety of corrosion control and service safety assessment technologies, which have been applied in many fields, such as nuclear power, aircraft, pipelines, power grids, ships, automobiles, aerospace and marine.
He has been the chief scientist of National 973 Corrosion Project for three times, and the subject leader of National Major Science and Technology Special Project, National Key R&D Program Project and National Natural Science Key Fund Project, etc. He is currently serving as the subject leader of the National Natural Science Foundation of China's major projects.
He has published more than 700 papers with more than 28,000 citations, H-factor of 84, G-index of 122; authorized more than 140 invention patents (including 3 U.S. patents); cooperated in the drafting and publication of 4 national standards, 2 industry standards and 23 group standards.
He was awarded 2 second prizes for national technological inventions, 1 second prize for national scientific and technological progress, and 5 first prizes at provincial and ministerial levels as the first complete author.
Three years ago, in Huangpu District, Guangzhou City, Professor Enhou Han led the creation of the Guangdong Corrosion Science and Technology Innovation Research Institute and served as the director of the newly developed anti-corrosion coatings and a number of technologies have reached the domestic leading.
Professor Enhou Han revealed that the relevant technology has been applied to the State Council's major water transmission projects in the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project, providing scientific and technological support for the high-quality construction of the project. At the same time, he expects that the new research method represented by material genetic engineering and the new technology represented by artificial intelligence will be integrated into the corrosion protection technology, which is realizing innovative development under the support of the National Key Research and Development Program project.
