On March 13, the 6th International Forum on  Advanced Cement Concrete Technology and Sustainable Development hosted by the former CANMET/ACI International Conference Organizing Committee, Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd. and Sinoma Int. Research Institute and organized by South China University of Technology (SCUT), was successfully held in our school. Dr. Tongbo Sui, Vice Presidnet of Sinoma Int., Dr. Terence C. Holland, former President of American Concrete Institute (ACI), Prof. Caijun Shi, Distinguished Expert of Hunan University, Prof. YueShi Qian, Professor of Chongqing University, as well as other academic masters in the field reported during the forum. More than 200 domestic and foreign scholars and enterprise representatives attended the conference.

During the meeting, Prof. Qijun Yu, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of SCUT, met with Dr. Sui, Chairman of the forum, and other experts at home and abroad, expressing a warm welcome to all participants. At the same time, he hoped that all experts would continue to support the development of cement concrete materials and related disciplines of SCUT.

With the theme of Safety, durability, functionality and sustainability of cement concrete materials, the forum focused on further promoting the latest concrete technolgy into sustainable development under the new trend of transformation and upgrading, energy conservation and emission reduction and low carbon development. During the meeting, experts at home and abroad gave excellent reports on  Advanced Cement Concrete Technology and Sustainable Development. Participants had in-depth discussions and full exchanges. The Forum was a complete success.

Up to now, SCUT has organized six international forums in conjunction with the CANMET/ACI Organizational Committee. The forum this year further demonstrated the technological level and the latest achievements of cement and concrete internationally in the field of sustainable development, deepened the exchanges of low-carbon technology between domestic and foreign scholars in the field of cement and concrete, and expanded SMSE’s international reputation and influence in the field of materials.
