5 scholars from our school selected into the Most Cited Chinese Researchers list 2016

   According to the Most Cited Chinese Researchers list of 2016, published by Elsevier on Feb. 27th 2017, there were 21 scholars of SCUT in 11 different research areas selected into the list, placing SCUT at the 14th place among universities of mainland China. Among them, five professors, Cao Yong, Wu Hongbin, Huang Fei, Zhu Min and Qiu Jianrong, were from School of Materials Science and Engineering.
   In the recent three years, SCUT scholars have published more than 13000 papers in SCI/EI and CPCI-S, which made a great effect on SCUT’s increase of academic ranking. In the field of engineering, SCUT has jumped to the 22nd in the world.
  The data of Most Cited Chinese Researchers 2016 depend on the Elsevier’s Scopus, which is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. Delivering a comprehensive overview of the world’s research output, Scopus makes it become possible to objectively and scientifically evaluate the global influence of Chinese scholars. In the latest list, 1776 Chinese professors from thirty eight different subjects are included, compared with 1744 last year.
