Award Recipient Wenliang Wang and Party Secretary of SCUT Xiaoming Du
On June 19, the awarding ceremony for Touching SCUT: the CMSK 2016 Annual Students was held in the Haili Recreation and Sports Center at Wushan Campus. The ceremony was attended by Party Secretary of SCUT Xiaoming Du, the Vice President of China Merchant Shekou Holdings (CMSK) and General Manager of South China Zhiguang Yang, and other leaders, teachers and students from CMSK and SCUT.
After four stages of competition including self-recommendation, judge’s voting, appearance demonstration and online voting, 10 individuals and teams were selected out from 146 nominations to have the honor of the Annual Students and the Annual Special Award. Dr. Wenliang Wang from School of Materials Science and Engineering was awarded “Touching SCUT: the CMSK 2016 Annual Student”.
Wang Wenliang, awardee of National Scholarship for PhD of China, National Scholarship for Undergraduates of China (2 times), Chinese College Students Self-star, Third Prize of Higher Mathematics Competition of China, Cross-Strait Undergraduate Debate Contest Outstanding Volunteers, Excellent Student Scholarship of Baosteel, First Prize of Innovation Fund for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis of South China University of Technology, Outstanding College Students in Fuzhou Univeristy (10 awardees), and has focused on the epitaxial growth of compound semiconductor materials and fabrication of relevant devices for about 10 years, has published more than 40 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and patented 10+ techniques, as well as two coauthored published books.
