Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced a list of subject matter experts in the field of the 863 Program.Professor Yang Zhongmin,a teacher from school of Materials Science and Engineering,was selected new materials technology,new electronic materials and devices subject matter experts and advanced manufacturing technology systems to control the technical subject matter experts.  
Experts in the field provide advices and recommendations on the strategic objectives and tasks of decision-making, commitment to technology development in the field of consulting work.And the experts selected on the basic recommendation in all localities, departments and industry associations and other organizations, with the primaries and the respondent evaluation procedures.

Professor Yang Zhongmin is mainly engaged in the research work of glass fiber, optical fiber lasers and fiber optic sensing system.He is a member of  the Optical Society of Optical Materials Committee,  director the Chinese Ceramic Society special glass glass branch and memberof the Guangdong Provincial Information Technology Standards Committee. He has presided over and participate in 863 plans, military as well as supporting provincial projects of 11, published  over 94 papers, which indexed by SCI and  25  invention patent applications in China, 8 has been authorized. Professor Yang Zhongmin won the New Techniques and Products Silver Award, Product Excellence Award of the12th China International Hi-tech Fair, 2010 China Optical important Achievement Award,The first prize of Natural Science of Guangdong Province in 2010 and  the National Technology Invention in 2011.
