On the afternoon of Sept. 7, a 3-member delegation of University of New South Wales (UNSW), led by its vice-president Richard Henry, visited SCUT. Vice-president ZHANG Xichun met the guests at the reception room of Shaw Building of Sciences.

 
At the meeting, ZHANG expressed a warm welcome to the guests, and Mr. Richard Henry extended the hope that the two sides could launch academic exchanges and joint study in common strong disciplines like architecture, materialogy, etc. The two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation, hoping that cooperative projects could be carried out such as visiting scholar, student exchange program and joint doctoral education, and cooperative domain could be gradually broadened and deepened. After the meeting, the delegation paid a visit to School of Architecture and key labs of School of Materials Science and Engineering.
 
UNSW is a famous university in Australia focusing on science and engineering as well as business and economics. At the moment, UNSW has already signed an agreement with SCUT with regards to 2+2 dual degree program for undergraduates majoring in optical information science and technology, applied physics and information display and optoelectronic technology.
