On May 30, a 3-member delegation of Leeds University, led by its vice president Richard Williams, visited SCUT. President LI Yuanyuan met the guests at the third conference room.
President LI expressed the hope that both sides could strengthen mutual communication with respect to student exchanging as well as sci-tech cooperation and conduct further cooperation in common advanced disciplines like energy, material, chemical engineering, equipment manufacturing, modern service industry, and performing arts, etc.
Prof. Richard Williams hoped that the meeting would enhance mutual understandings and promote in-depth communication and further cooperation in certain fields. After the conference, the delegation also looked around the campus and the lab of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
Established in the second half of 19 century, Leeds University got royal approvement to become an independent university in 1904. After more than one hundred years' development, Leeds University has become one of the best universities in Britain, with a ranking between 100 and 150 around the world.
