School of Materials Science and Engineering held the opening ceremony of International Safety Culture Week at 11:30 on December 1 on the first floor of Linhong Building. The leaders and guests present at the ceremony were Leopold Hoorelbeke, the vice president of Total, Bassam Burgan, Director of the Steel Construction Institute, Yu Yongjian, the vice president of polystyrene products at Total in China, Miao Jing, the HSE auditor, Process Safety Engineer, Refining & Petrochemicals Orient, Total, Wu Miaoxian, Executive Deputy Secretary of the CPC SCUT School of Materials Science and Engineering Committee, Zhang Guangzhao, Vice Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering.
The first part was the Awarding Ceremony. The School of Materials Science and Engineering appointed 3 guest professors (Leopold Hoorelbeke, Bassam Burgan and Yu Yongjian) and 1 visiting lecturer (Miao Jing). The vice dean Zhang Guangzhao awarded the Letter of Appointments to them and thanked for their coming. After the Awarding Ceremony there was the Questions and Answers part. There were more than 1000 questions of safety, all the students who answered the questions right and fast would win the prizes offered by the School of Materials Science and Engineering.
