Recently, adelegation from the School of Law at South China University of Technology(SCUT), led by Professor Chen Xiaoping, Party Secretary of the School, visitedthe Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court to conduct a formal exchange andcooperation visit. The delegation included Associate Dean Xie Huijia, ProfessorHuang Xudong, Director of the Undergraduate Teaching and Practice Center,Professor Wan Xiaoli, Director of the Intellectual Property Teaching andResearch Section, as well as representatives from the School’s faculty party branches. Themeeting was attended by Judge Yuan Jun, Vice President of the GuangzhouIntellectual Property Court; Judge Wei Xiaoyun, Chief Judge of the Division ofTrademark and Unfair Competition; along with senior officials from thePolitical Department, Patent Division, and Copyright Division of the court. Duringthe visit, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on academiccollaboration, talent development, and practice-oriented legal education, witha shared focus on promoting the integration of legal theory and judicialpractice in the field of intellectual property law.

Party Secretary Chen Xiaopinghighly affirmed the importance of this cooperation. She emphasized that the LawSchool of South China University of Technology has always attached greatimportance to the cultivation of students’practical abilities, and close cooperation with practical departments is animportant starting point for promoting the reform of legal education andimproving the quality of talent cultivation. Going forward, the school will takeparty building as the guide, continuously explore and innovate, strengthencooperation with practical departments, steadily improve the quality of talentcultivation, and inject strong impetus into the development of legal education.
During the meeting, theschool leaders and teachers also held a cordial discussion with studentrepresentatives interning at the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court. Theschool leaders asked in detail about the students’ workcontent, gains, and challenges during the internship. The studentsenthusiastically shared their growth experiences at the internship positionsand expressed sincere gratitude to the internship unit for providing valuablepractical opportunities. They said that this internship experience enabled themto deeply integrate theoretical knowledge with practical work, andsignificantly improved their professional literacy and practical capabilities.

The delegationalso visited the Exhibition Hall and Party Building Activity Room of theGuangzhou Intellectual Property Court. This exchange laid a solid foundationfor deepening future collaboration between the School of Law at South ChinaUniversity of Technology and the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court. Lookingahead, both sides will take this opportunity to expand areas of cooperation,innovate collaboration models, and work hand in hand to contribute moreactively to the cultivation of outstanding legal professionals and theadvancement of rule-of-law-based governance in society.
