On December 2, the Seminar on Local Rule of Law and Governance in the Digital Era and the 2023 Annual Forum on Local Legal System was held in Guangzhou. The forum was co-organized by the Research Center on Local Governance and Rule of Law Development in China of Zhejiang University and the Guangdong Local Rule of Law Research Center of South China University of Technology. Dr. Li Shiyong, the Director of Social Science Department of South China University of Technology, Professor Jiang Wuzhen, the Dean of Law School of South China University of Technology, Professor Yu Jun, the Deputy Director of the Research Center on Chinese Local Jurisprudence and Rule of Law Development of Zhejiang University, as well as more than 20 experts and scholars from various universities in China participated in the meeting.

The central theme of the forum is Local Rule of Law and Governance in the Digital Age. The forum was divided into two sessions for idea exchanges. The first is Local Rule of Law in the Digital Age, which explores the experience of local rule of law construction in different spatial locations; the second is Interdisciplinary Local Governance in the Digital Age, which analyzes the successes and failures in the construction of local rule of law from the perspectives of different disciplines.
