From November 16th to 20th, 2020, the 18th CIETAC Cup International Commercial Arbitration Moot and Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot were successfully held in Beijing. The SCUT representative team won runner-up with outstanding performance.

This year is the first time for our faculty to participate in the CIETAC Cup competition. Associate Professor Xu Shu of our faculty serves as instructor, and five undergraduates Li Hailing, Xie Yingxin, Mo Huanlin, Zhou Minlei and Zhou Youran constitute the team.

CIETAC Cup is the highest-level moot court competition in the field of international commercial arbitration in our country. CIETAC Cup is one of the moot court competitions with the largest scale, the longest history, the largest number of participating schools and the most extensive influence in China. It is also the Chinese qualification trials of the most internationally influential Moot Willem C. Vis Commercial Arbitration Moot. The competition is divided into two parts, written and oral debate, in English.

This year's CIETAC Cup competition invited 230 arbitrators, law professors, executives of multinational companies and well-known lawyers from 22 countries and regions as judges. It has attracted 69 teams and more than 700 players from well-known law schools across the country, which is grand and unprecedented.
