On May 28, 2016, "International symposium on FRAND rules in standard essential patent license " was held in the SCUT international academic exchange center.
Professor Xiongwen Yang made theopening statement, and introduced the research status about the FRAND rules in standard essential patent license. Mr. Yifan Xian, lawyer of Hong Kong Deacons Law Firm briefly introduced the competition rules in Hong Kong and the Unwired Planet v. Huawei & Samsung's progress; Mr. James Godefroy, lawyer from the British ROUSE intellectual property law firm, explained standard key patent FRAND rules-the case of Huawei European patent.

     Many professors attended the symposium, including Prof. Chuntian Liu from Renmin University of China, Prof. Xue-zhong Zhu from Tongji University, Prof. Shi Zhou and Prof. Xiao-li Wan from South China university of technology, Prof. Xinliang Tao from Shanghai University, Professor Hua Liu from Central China Normal University, Professor Yuye Huang from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Prof. Sanqiang Qu form Beijing Institute of Technology, Prof. Ping Su from Chongqing University of Technology.
