Ⅰ. Overview
Experimental Center of Law School consists of moot courts, legal clinics, legal professional training room and judicial practice training room. To provide students with a complete legal laboratory to improve their theoretical and practical abilities, Experimental Center with legal clinics at the core has carried out all kinds of legal experimental projects such as Clinical Legal Practice Teaching, Trial Process Simulation Experiment, Observing and Conducting Legal Professional Training. Experimental Center covers 625 square meters and was established in 2005, including 4 specialized laboratories, 5 sets of instruments and equipments, and equipment assets having a worth of ¥176,000. The Center accepts nearly 500 students each year, mainly conducting experimental teachings of moot courts, legal clinics and judicial practice training, with 8 projects implemented annually. The center also carries out series of cultivation programs for the students’ innovative capabilities, for example: Hundred Steps Ladder, SRP, Challenge Cup, Debate Contest and Moot Court, etc.
Experimental Center has 33 full-time teachers and 10 part-time teachers, including 17 professors, 9 associate professors, 14 lecturers and 3 assistant lecturers, 29 of whom with doctor degree and 14 with master degree.
Ⅱ. Major Equipments
In recent years, ¥176,000 was invested in equipment purchase for Experimental Center,which completed the pre-building of labs and greatly increased the level of experimental teaching. The main instruments are: Toshiba T90 projectors valued at ¥14,300 and Panasonic projectors valued at ¥21,000.
Ⅲ. Experimental Teaching
Our law school actively promotes teaching methods combining basic theory teaching with practice teaching. In less than two years, our school has established various legal laboratories including Legal Clinic, Legal Professional Training Room, Judicial Practice Training Room, Large Moot Court and Small Moot Courts. A number of practice bases have also been established in cooperation with other law-related departments and institutions. The school has become "Social Laboratory" for law students.
Experimental Center, aiming at cultivating high-quality talents with "sound foundation, strong abilities and wide adaptation", emphasizes professional, comprehensive and practical contents and the conduct rate of comprehensive experiments has reached 100%.
Ⅳ. Scientific Research Achievements
Full-time teachers have undertaken a total of 25 scientific research projects at provincial and ministerial level or above and published 13 teaching and research papers. The project of “ ‘3+2’ Education Mode for Law Schools in Technology Universities” was awarded with the first prize in Guangdong Province. Undergraduate students have published 8 papers and paticipated in various competitions and won several awards both from the University and at the provincial and ministerial level.
