South China University of Technology (SCUT) has two undergraduate majors in Law and Intellectual Property, which are a collection of majors with a common theoretical foundation in law or a relatively consistent composition of research fields. The professional education of this category is highly applied and practical, providing key support and fundamental role for the construction of national democracy and the rule of law; based on the deep integration of quality education and professional education, it focuses on constructing a system of cultivating legal vocational ability and cultivating composite professionals adapted to the needs of the rule of law
in the new era.
Education Characteristics:
Adhering to the fundamental purpose of educating people for the Party and educating talents for the country, Huagong Law Program builds a special education system of cultivation of both morality and law, cross-border integration, and empowerment of three creations. Adhering to cultivating both morality and law, based on the goal of cultivating socialist builders and successors with all-round development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness and aesthetics, integrating national sentiment and global vision into the whole process of cultivating people with morality; adhering to student-oriented, relying on the university's engineering department, we have established a student-oriented system. Relying on the advantages of engineering and geography of the university, the university promotes the cross-fertilization of law, science and technology, and management, and builds an order-type and personalized talent cultivation path of government, industry, academia, and research collaborative cultivation of talents. Through advanced professional training, we aim to cultivate leading talents and reserve forces for the construction of socialist rule of law with three excellent powers (learning power, thinking power, and action power) and three creative powers (innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship).

Students will step into the phase of specialty education after choosing specialized majors. The law major has two professional education channels for law and intellectual property. It is open to the following two majors:

Educational Objectives:
With the tenet of cultivating people by virtue and cultivating both morality and law, adheres to the concept of knowledge learning, ability enhancement and quality cultivation , and focuses on cultivating students with a solid foundation of professional theory, good legal ethics and high-quality legal services, a sense of nationalism and globalization, as well as the ability of legal education. It focuses on cultivating three-creative (innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship) rule of law talents with solid professional theoretical foundation, good legal ethics and high-quality legal service, who are equipped with both national sentiment and global vision, excellent in three forces (learning, thinking and action) and all-round development in morality, intelligence, physicality, aesthetics, and labor, so as to provide high-quality intellectual support for the construction of rule of law China and rule of law society. Educational Objectives:
Based on the needs for technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, leveraging the school's strengths in integrating science and engineering with law, we aim to cultivate high-level intellectual property professionals. These individuals will have a firm political stance, noble moral character, diverse knowledge structures, solid theoretical foundations, proficient practical skills, and a deep understanding of foreign systems and international rules. They will be capable of working in government departments, public security organs, procuratorial organs and people's courts, enterprises, and service organizations, engaging in intellectual property legal and management roles. This initiative aims to support the development of the Greater Bay Area as a global hub for technology and industry and to contribute to the nation's efforts to become a leading intellectual property power.

With the fundamental principle of cultivating people with moral integrity and cultivating both morality and law, based on the Educational Cultivation Plan for Excellence in Legal Talents of the Ministry of Education, and relying on the advantageous engineering background and professional characteristics of the university, the major aims to cultivate the all-round development of morality, intelligence, physicality, physicality, aesthetics, and labour, with the combination of national sentiments and global vision, and the excellence of the three powers (learning power, thinking power and action power). Educational Objectives:
Legal Artificial Intelligence Experimental Class is based on the country's first-class professional advantages in law, relying on the discipline leadership and resource empowerment of the School of Future Technology in the field of artificial intelligence, connecting with the development of cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology, and aims to cultivate high-level, innovative, and compound “law + artificial intelligence” leading talents.
Cultivation Objective 1: To cultivate outstanding legal talents who have the core socialist values, sense of patriotism, and sense of social responsibility, who can correctly understand and evaluate the impact of artificial intelligence technology on legal practice and society, and who practice the rule of law and scientific and technological ethics.
Cultivation Objective 2: To cultivate high-level modern legal talents who are proficient in both morality and law, have systematic grasp of the basic theories, professional knowledge and research methods in the fields of law and artificial intelligence, and have the ability to integrate and innovate across multiple disciplines.
