On the afternoon of April 16, the CPC Committee of the School of Foreign Languages held a thematic seminar of the Education and Reading Class on establishing and practicing correct views on performance in Conference Room 204, Building 22. All members of the school's leadership team, the Theoretical Study Center Group of the CPC Committee, party branch secretaries, and department heads attended the seminar. Sun Lianpo, leader of the university's supervision team, and Dong Lirui, a team member, were present to provide guidance. The meeting was chaired by Liu Yingsi, Party Secretary of the School.
Centering on the theme Establishing and Practicing Correct Views on Performance, Driving High-Quality Development of the School through Practical Action and Responsibility, Liu Yingsi systematically interpreted the rich connotations, core essences, and practical requirements of establishing and practicing correct views on performance. The study session closely followed the spirit of the University's High-Quality Development Conference and, taking into account the actual development of foreign language disciplines, deeply analyzed how correct views on performance manifest in areas such as discipline construction, talent cultivation, faculty development, and internationalization. The session guided the leadership team to deeply understand that establishing correct views on performance is a crucial guarantee for fulfilling the fundamental task of moral education and talent cultivation, promoting the connotative development of the school, and supporting the university's advancement into the global top 100.
Dean Zhu Xianlong and other leadership team members engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges based on discipline construction and the high-quality development of the school. Each participant addressed the group, sharing their study reflections. In light of the requirements of correct views on performance, they carefully identified deficiencies in their respective areas of responsibility, including teaching and research, student affairs, party building, and administrative management, and clarified improvement directions and specific measures. They unanimously expressed that they must always adhere to a student-centered and discipline-oriented approach, reject formalism and bureaucracy, and focus their efforts on solving practical problems, promoting the school's development, and serving the needs of faculty and students. With the mindset that success does not have to be credited to me, yet success must include my efforts, they pledged to take practical action and persevere over the long term, transforming correct views on performance into concrete actions in fulfilling their duties and helping the school's various endeavors reach new heights.
After carefully listening to the leadership team's study reflections, Sun Lianpo fully affirmed the seminar. He noted that the seminar had a clear theme, solid content, and orderly arrangements. The study session was in-depth and specific, the discussions were grounded in reality, and the leadership team showed profound understanding and delivered practical remarks, achieving the expected outcomes of unifying thinking, building consensus, and clarifying directions. He expressed the hope that the school would closely align with the university's Eight Major Offensive Actions and the Ten Key Tasks for 2026, build on the characteristics of the foreign language disciplines, focus on core tasks, and address development challenges.
The CPC Committee of the School stated that it will take this seminar as an opportunity to continuously promote the internalization and externalization of correct views on performance, driving the school's high-quality development through practical action and responsible commitment.
