time: 2024-01-30

To enhance our students' capacity for engaging in global governance and support the university's initiatives in localized internationalization and two-way internationalization, the fifth session of the Bilingual Workshop on International Organizations was held online on January 29. Participants included students enrolled in the micro-program International Organizations and Global Governance, as well as candidates for the university's talent pool for international organizations. This workshop focused on the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

The session highlighted the practical work of regional international organizations, providing a detailed analysis of the characteristics of ESCAP positions suitable for university students and emphasizing the unique strengths of our students. It underscored the importance of recognition, participation, and contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Bilingual Workshop on International Organizations is organized by the School of Foreign Languages at South China University of Technology (SCUT) and hosted by the SCUT Model United Nations Association. It is co-organized by the Research Center for Global Governance and International Organizations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Research Center for Indian Ocean Island Countries at SCUT. This event is also one of the flagship activities of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Practice Base for High-Level International Talent Cultivation.
