Recently, Ms. Mu Xiaoxin, Director of International Cooperation Affairs at the University of Hawaii, USA, visited our school to discuss comprehensive undergraduate, master's, and doctoral cooperation programs between our school and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Vice Deans Zhan Shuangjuan and Che Siqi of the School of Foreign Languages, along with Professor Liu Xiqin from the English Department and other faculty members, attended the meeting.
The discussions primarily focused on the 3+2 cooperation and exchange program between the School of Foreign Languages and relevant colleges at the University of Hawaii, such as the College of Education. Both parties deliberated on the specific implementation plans for the joint talent cultivation program. Building on the preliminary agreements reached earlier, they clarified cooperation details in master's degree specializations, including teaching management, curriculum design, educational technology, teacher education, and regional and country studies. Discussions also covered the specific models for joint cultivation, curriculum development, mentor allocation, and academic exchanges. Key details such as the program start date, target participants, professional specializations, language proficiency requirements, application procedures, and program fees were thoroughly discussed, leading to the preliminary establishment of a series of cooperative intentions.
During the talks, both sides agreed to jointly advance the process of international educational cooperation, strengthen multi-level exchanges, broaden students' learning horizons, and deepen academic exchanges and specialized cooperation in talent cultivation. This meeting not only enhanced mutual understanding but also laid a solid foundation for closer collaboration in the future. Our school will continue to deepen cooperation with relevant colleges at the University of Hawaii, aiming to create a broader platform for international academic exchange and cooperation through joint cultivation programs and exchange initiatives, thereby fostering innovation in talent development.
