On July 3, 2024, the Fourth National College Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition (Guangdong Division) and the Guangdong Provincial College Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition concluded successfully. This competition brought together 151 outstanding college teachers (teams) from across the province, showcasing innovative ideas and practical achievements in the field of teaching. Ms. Huang Ting from our school, with her meticulously crafted course Elementary German, won the third prize in the fundamental course category, demonstrating her exceptional teaching abilities and forward-thinking innovative concepts, as well as highlighting the teaching enthusiasm and excellence of our school’s faculty.

As a general education course offered across the university, Elementary German adheres to the teaching philosophy of teacher-led, student-centered and applies the production-oriented approach. It continuously explores and innovates, infusing the course with new vitality and providing students with motivation for active learning, earning high praise from them. This award is a recognition of Ms. Huang Ting’s teaching innovation capabilities. She expressed that teaching reform is an endless journey, and the outcomes of each innovation serve as the starting point for the next. She hopes to remain true to her original aspirations, adhere to a student-centered approach, use competitions to enhance teaching and promote reform, and continuously improve the quality of teaching.

It is reported that the Guangdong Provincial College Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition is a large-scale event organized by the Guangdong Higher Education Association under the guidance of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. The competition provides a stage for frontline teachers to showcase their teaching excellence and innovative achievements, as well as a platform to enhance teaching standards and foster teaching development.
