Strategic Positioning

This center is dedicated to serving the implementation of national strategies and the development of the Greater Bay Area, with its roots in Guangzhou and a focus on the Bay Area. By closely integrating with the doctoral program in the first-level discipline of Foreign Languages and Literatures at our institution and leveraging the distinctive advantages of foreign language disciplines, the center aims to become a new type of research think tank platform integrating policy consultation, academic research, talent cultivation, social services, and international exchanges. Through research, communication, and project collaboration, it will concentrate on cultural innovation studies in the Greater Bay Area and the cultivation of talents in cultural innovation and communication, thereby promoting the global outreach of outstanding Chinese culture.

Research Areas

The center's research areas cover multiple aspects of cultural innovation and communication in the Greater Bay Area, including theoretical and practical studies on cultural innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, comparative studies of regional cultures, corporate cultural innovation research, cultural innovation policy research, cultural innovation industry research, cultural innovation education research, cultural innovation value research, and studies on the dissemination of outstanding Chinese culture. Through outputs such as consultation reports, corporate cultural innovation reports, academic research papers, and multilingual cultural and creative works, the center provides decision-making support for the government, solutions for enterprises, and important references for academic research on cultural innovation.

Research Team

The center boasts a professional research team with members from diverse disciplinary backgrounds, including culture, media, economics, linguistics, and sociology. The team possesses extensive research experience and practical capabilities. Currently, the team comprises 8 full-time researchers and 10 part-time researchers. In recent years, team members have secured over 10 provincial and ministerial-level research projects, including key projects of the National Social Science Fund, major research projects of the Ministry of Education's Philosophy and Social Sciences, general projects of the National Social Science Fund, and humanities and social sciences projects of the Ministry of Education. They have published more than 20 papers in authoritative domestic and international academic journals such as System, Island Studies Journal, Contemporary Foreign Literature, and Theoretical Studies in Literature and Art. Additionally, 15 textbooks have been published, and over 20 policy consultation reports have received feedback from central and provincial-level leaders.

Exchanges and Cooperation

The center has established extensive cooperative partnerships with government, industry, and academia. It maintains close ties with relevant functional departments of the Guangdong provincial government and various municipal governments, as well as universities, research institutions, enterprises, and non-profit organizations within the Greater Bay Area. Furthermore, the center actively seeks collaboration with relevant domestic and international institutions and organizations to jointly carry out project research and academic exchanges. It aims to build a cultural innovation community in the Greater Bay Area, effectively tell the story of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and contribute to the global outreach of outstanding Chinese culture.
