In accordance with the Opinions on Deepening the Reform of the Educational System and Mechanism and the Overall Plan for Deepening the Reform of Educational Evaluation in the New Era issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, and to support the evaluation of higher education teaching by the Ministry of Education, implement the spirit of English teaching reform and examination evaluation reform, the National Collaborative Group for Foreign Language Teaching and Research in Higher Teacher Education Institutions has decided to hold the 2025 National English Competition for College Students (NECCS). This year marks the 27th edition of the competition, which is co-organized by the Beijing Research and Development Center of the English Coaching Paper and hosted by the National Organizing Committee of the NECCS.

Preliminary Round: April 13, 2025 (Sunday), 9:00 – 11:00
Final Round: May 11, 2025 (Sunday), 9:00 – 11:00

III. Important Notes for Participants
1. Registration Method
Register via the official NECCS website: https://www.saikr.com/neccs/2025Note: Participants who do not register through the South China University of Technology portal will not be allowed to compete in the university-level competition. Registrations made through other universities will be considered invalid.
2. Competition Categories
Category A: Graduate students
Category B: Undergraduate and junior college students majoring in English
Category C: Non-English major undergraduate students
Category D: Undergraduate students in sports and arts programs, as well as non-English major students in vocational colleges
Note: Registrations across universities or categories are invalid.
3. Admission Ticket Download and Examination Venue
Admission tickets will be available for download on the official website under the university's section after April 10. Participants can also check their examination venue details at that time.On the day of the exam, arrive at the venue 30 minutes in advance.Examination System: The university's Academic Affairs Office online examination system (the same system used for the final English exam).
4. Preliminary Round Awards
Second and third prizes will be awarded in the preliminary round. The list of winners and electronic versions of certificates can be downloaded from the 2025 SCUT NECCS QQ Group.
5. Provincial Round Notification
Notifications for the provincial round (for special and first prizes) can be found on the official website or in the competition's QQ group.Qualifiers must join the 2025 SCUT NECCS Provincial Round QQ group (Group ID: 226427332) by May 5.The university will organize unified participation in the provincial round. Failure to join the group on time will be considered a voluntary withdrawal.
6. Registration Fee
Registration fees are non-refundable after the registration deadline. Please consider carefully before registering.
