Recently, information sessions on the University of Western Australia 3+2 Translation Studies Program were held at both the Wushan Campus and the University Town Campus. These events focused on the undergraduate-master's integrated program jointly offered by the School of Foreign Languages at South China University of Technology and the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Australia, attracting undergraduate students from all grades in the School of Foreign Languages. The sessions were hosted by Che Siqi from the School of Foreign Languages, with Luo Yingtong from the China-Australia College Office providing on-site explanations.
Luo Yingtong provided a detailed introduction to the overall profile of UWA and offered a comprehensive overview of the 3+2 Translation Studies Program. The program follows a 3+2 training model, where students complete their Bachelor of Arts courses at South China University of Technology in the first three years and then pursue a Master of Translation Studies at UWA in the following two years. Upon graduation, students will receive degree certificates from both institutions.
The program is accredited by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) of Australia. The curriculum includes a six-week internship arrangement and offers students abundant research and internship opportunities. During the sessions, Ms. Luo patiently addressed students' questions and encouraged them to actively seize this international education opportunity. The successful hosting of these information sessions has built a bridge for students to access the international stage and marks a new phase of cooperation between the two universities in cultivating talent in foreign language disciplines. In the future, the two institutions will continue to deepen their collaboration, committed to nurturing high-end translation professionals with global perspectives.
