Recently, a delegation of 11 faculty and students from Jawaharlal Nehru University in India visited our university. Led by Associate Professor Aravind Yelery from the university’s Centre for East Asian Studies and honorary researcher at the Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS), the delegation toured the Wushan Campus and International Campus, visited the university history museum, and participated in multiple thematic academic exchange activities. Professor Zhu Xianlong, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages and Executive Director of the Indian Ocean Island Countries Research Centre, introduced the delegation to the centre’s development journey and the situation in the Indian Ocean. He also chaired academic exchange sessions between faculty and students from the school and centre and the delegation members. Professor Li Yunquan from the Safety and Intelligent Robotics Research Centre of the Wu Xianming School of Intelligent Engineering delivered a special lecture on artificial intelligence for the delegation and guided them on a tour of the centre, where they interacted with robotic dogs in person.
This visit by the delegation has strengthened international engagement between our university and Jawaharlal Nehru University, promoted the external exchanges of our Indian Ocean Island Countries Research Centre, enhanced mutual understanding between the youth of China and India, and contributed to the healthy and stable development of friendly relations between the two countries.
