1. Lancaster University Management School (LUMS)
Lancaster University, founded in 1964 and located in Lancashire, Northwest England, is a prestigious public research university renowned for its academic excellence. Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) is one of the few business schools worldwide to hold quadruple accreditation, ranking among the top 1% globally and the top 10 in the UK. 2. South China University of Technology (SCUT) – School of Foreign Languages
The School of Foreign Languages at South China University of Technology was established in 2002, evolving from the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Section founded in 1952. It comprises several academic departments, including the Department of English, Department of Japanese, Department of International Organizations, Graduate Academic Division, Graduate Professional Division, College English Teaching Division, and Graduate Public English Teaching Division. The school began enrolling undergraduate students in 1988, obtained authorization for master’s degree programs in 1991, established a first-level master’s program in Foreign Language and Literature in 2006, added a Master of Translation and Interpreting program in 2010, secured approval for a first-level doctoral program in Foreign Language and Literature in 2021, and established a postdoctoral research program in Foreign Language and Literature in 2023. This progression has formed a comprehensive talent cultivation system spanning undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. In the 2020–2023 Soft Science China Best Discipline Rankings, the school’s first-level discipline of Foreign Language and Literature consistently ranked among the top in China. Moreover, the Business English undergraduate program received an A+ rating and ranked first nationally for two consecutive years in the 2023 and 2024 Soft Science China Best Major Rankings.
In recent years, the school has continuously promoted the in-depth development of its disciplines and established several research platforms, including a Ministry of Education Center for Country and Regional Studies, a Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences in Guangdong Province, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Global Governance and International Organizations Research Center, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Language Governance and Language Resources Research Center. The school also oversees three academic publications: Island Studies Journal (SSCI-indexed), Folk, Knowledge, Place, and Journal of Indian Ocean Studies. The academic team has undertaken over 40 national-level projects, including major projects of the National Social Science Fund and key projects of the Ministry of Education’s Philosophy and Social Sciences. The school has received nearly 20 awards, such as the Ministry of Education Outstanding Achievement Award in Humanities and Social Sciences and the Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award, along with more than 200 provincial and ministerial-level research projects. Adhering to the concept of disciplinary integration, the school has achieved remarkable success in think tank development. The Indian Ocean Island Countries Research Center has been recognized as a high-level construction unit for country and regional studies by the Ministry of Education and is listed as a source think tank in the China Think Tank Index (CTTI).
Over the past five years, the school’s teaching teams have received one National Teaching Achievement Second Prize, two National Curriculum Ideological and Political Demonstration Courses, five National First-Class Undergraduate Courses, and 13 Guangdong Provincial First-Class Courses. The school has also earned four Guangdong Provincial Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards, including a Special Prize, First Prize, and Second Prize, laying a solid foundation for talent cultivation. II. Program Introduction
1. Program Type
This is a “2+2” undergraduate dual-degree program. Students complete their first two years (four semesters) of study at South China University of Technology and, upon meeting the admission requirements, proceed to Lancaster University to complete the final two years of their undergraduate studies. Upon fulfilling all academic requirements, students will be awarded bachelor’s degrees from both universities.

Students who successfully complete the first two years of relevant undergraduate programs at SCUT are eligible to apply for the following undergraduate degree programs at Lancaster University:

3. Application and Admission Requirements
Students must successfully complete the first two years (four semesters) of their undergraduate program at SCUT with an overall average score of no less than 80%, and all subjects must be passed.
Students must meet Lancaster University’s English language proficiency requirements for their chosen degree program: an overall IELTS score of no less than 6.5, with no component below 6.0, or an equivalent level of English proficiency.
Students must complete their application through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) by the beginning of the final semester of their sophomore year at SCUT.
