South China University of Technology – School of Foreign Languages(School of Foreign Languages, South China University of Technology)The School of Foreign Languages at South China University of Technology was established in 2002, evolving from the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Section founded in 1952 and the Department of Foreign Languages established in 1985. It is one of the three earliest liberal arts schools at the university. In 2021, the school was granted the first-level doctoral degree authorization in Foreign Language and Literature, and in 2023, it established a postdoctoral research program in Foreign Language and Literature, forming a comprehensive talent cultivation system encompassing bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs. From 2020 to 2023, the discipline of Foreign Language and Literature consistently ranked among the top in China in the Soft Science China Best Discipline Rankings. In the 2023 and 2024 Soft Science China Best Major Rankings, the Business English undergraduate program received an A+ rating, ranking first in the nation for two consecutive years.

II. Program Introduction
Program Type2+2 Dual-Degree Joint Training Program: Students complete the first two years (freshman and sophomore years) at South China University of Technology. Upon meeting the admission requirements, they proceed to American University to complete the final two years (junior and senior years) of undergraduate studies. Upon fulfilling all academic requirements, students will receive:
A Bachelor of Arts degree from South China University of Technology
A Bachelor of Business Administration degree from American University
Specialization
Specialization Direction: Students who successfully complete the first two years of academic requirements at South China University of Technology will be eligible to apply for the Business Administration program at American University.
Degree Requirements:
Total Credits: 120 credits (up to 60 credits transferred from South China University of Technology, with at least 60 credits completed at American University).
Cumulative GPA ≥ 2.0, with all program-specific academic requirements completed.
Students must complete at least 2 years (including 4 semesters and 2 summer sessions) of study at American University.

Application Conditions:
(1) Academic Requirements:- Second-year students at South China University of Technology with a cumulative GPA ≥ 2.5 (converted according to the U.S. 4.0 scale; refer to the South China University of Technology grading conversion table for specifics).- Maintain a good academic and disciplinary record.
(2) Language Requirements (official scores from one of the following English proficiency tests must be submitted):- TOEFL (iBT) ≥ 85 (with no section score below 20)- IELTS ≥ 6.5 (with no section score below 6.0)- Duolingo English Test ≥ 120 (with no section score below 110)
